Original paper assessment and revision protocol

The Journal on Transport Law (RDT) seeks to be a frame of reference in the sector and is aware of the importance that the quality of its contents have to achieve such a goal. Therefore, the RDT has established an article revision process similar to that of other renowned scientific publications and according to international standards and requirements concerning their quality control. Likewise, in the interest of improving transparency, the RDT considers it important that both readers and potential authors are familiar with the revision process from the receipt of the original paper to the final acceptance of the article.

Acknowledgement of receipt

The RDT undertakes to give the author acknowledgement of receipt within ten days or less.

Initial review

All original papers published in the RDT shall go through the double peer review process, but beforehand they will go through a review carried out by the executive Management. This review will determine whether the article reaches the minimum scientific interest required to go through the peer review process, which will be communicated to each author within 30 days since the acknowledgement of receipt.

Comprehensive assessment

If the initial review is favourable, the RDT will send the article to two or more specialists following the peer review system. After receiving these reports, the RDT will make its decision based on them.

Acceptance or rejection

If the reports by the two reviewers recommend that the work is published without modifications to the original, its publication will be accepted by the RDT. If the reports by the two reviewers recommend that the work is not published, its publication will be rejected by the RDT. If one of the reports recommends that the work is not published and the other recommends that it is published without modifications, the RDT will decide whether it accepts or rejects the publication of the work. If one or both of the reports by the reviewers recommend that the work is published but with modifications to the original, its publication will be accepted by the RDT, provided that the author heeds the comments made in the reviews. In this case, it will be the reviewers who will determine whether their comments have been sufficiently heeded.
